The Avro arrived at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome on June 6, 1971.  It was built in 1966 under the supervision of Vivian Bellamy for the Mirisch Productions, Inc. to be used in a film entitled "The Bells of Hell Go Ting-a-ling-a-ling, Death Where Art Thy Sting-a-ling-a-ling?" The movie was never made.  The Avro is powered with an original 110 HP LeRhone rotary engine.  The construction is close to original, however the fuselage is all wood with glued plywood gussets.  It has been flying at the Aerodrome since May 15, 1972.

In the Spring of 2003 the Avro experienced a forced landing resulting in considerable damage (fortunately not to the pilot.) We are happy to report its rebuild is nearly complete and may join the flight line again in late Summer of 2005.
