OLD RHINEBECK AERODROME

Spartan C-3

The Spartan was a very good example of the average general aircraft developed up to 1929.  It was rugged and dependable, and it performed a wide variety of services.  Factory price in 1929 was $6,750.00.

Cole acquired the bones of the Aerodrome’s Spartan in 1972 in Massachusetts.  It had been in storage for thirty-five years and found its way to Gordon Bainbridge’s workshop.  Gordon restored the aircraft for Cole and it flew again in August of 1974.  It is presently on display in our Lindbergh Era museum building.
