Gerhard Fiesler, a successful German World War I pilot became a partner, flight instructor and Flight-day organizer with the Raab-Katzenstein airplane factory in Kassel. The company declared bankruptcy in 1930. Little is known about what happened in between. Just prior to closing their doors the 1929 Raab-Katzenstein "Rakete" was developed as a test-bed for rocket powered flight. The tail-first design performed flight tests with a conventional engine. Only the uncovered fuselage remains of this early glider. |
