The creation of Edouard Nieuport, this low-powered aircraft set a World Speed record of 74 mph in may of 1911.  In July of the same year, C.T. Weymann representing the U.S.A. won the Gordon Bennet Trophy race in a Gnome powered Nieuport at 78 mph.  During World War I the Nieuport concern built outstanding fighter types for the allies.

The Aerodrome’s Nieuport IIN was built in Florida in the mid-1970s.  It has been taxied, but has never flown.
