OLD RHINEBECK AERODROME

Great Lakes 2T-1R
This example was built by long time Old Rhinebeck friend and volunteer Ed Hammerle in the early 1990's to compliment Cole Palen's original 1931 Great Lakes N304Y, Ed even managed to get a similar number, N306Y, and finished it in the same paint scheme with transposed colors.

Cole flew this 'Lakes just after it was completed and felt it was as proper as his factory ship.  It seems fitting that this aircraft has found its way back to the Aerodrome as the Aerodrome's N304Y was the aircraft that inspired its construction.  It is powered by a 175 hp Ranger inverted inline six cylinder engine instead of a Menasco.

It is privately owned and operated by Aerodrome Pilots Tom Daly and Jim Record in our weekend shows at the Aerodrome.
